In this course we will consider how the contemporary American novel grapples with globalization in its political, economic and cultural terms. We will discuss ”world literature” in relation to national canons and  will be reading some of the most influential American authors such as Thomas Pynchon, William Gibson, Don DeLillo and Paul Auster.
